Our History

Scope’s tradition of quality and comfort in furniture dates back to 1964. The Lux Company provided cushions to the recreational vehicle industry. In 1968, a furniture division from Lasalle-Dietch was purchased by the Lux Company with Montgomery Ward as its largest customer. While growing in the recreational vehicle market, contract furniture was launched under the brand of LuxSteel, which is still manufactured by Scope Technologies. Scope Technologies later acquired the distinguished Domore brand and continues to this day the brand’s known reputation for excellence, durability, and comfort.

Over the past eighty years, the Domore brand has established and continues to maintain distinct reputation for high quality seating solutions with superior durability and comfort. The Domore Chair Company was founded in 1922 and originally manufactured adjustable factory chairs meant to alleviate back fatigue suffered by British industrial workers during WWI. In later years, as these adjustable controls gained in popularity the Domore Chair Company expanded to offer office seating and executive and secretarial swivel chairs.
